Anton O’Donnell “On the Way Down”

Anton O’Donnell is the lead singer/songwriter with Glasgow based band and Anton & the Colts, and his second single ‘On the Way Down’ is out next week. Anton told us that the song is “lyrically the culmination of all the things that have irritated me over the lockdown (and life in general) – bullies, Brexit, apathy and the apparent corruption within government. Really chuffed with the way this track’s turned out considering it was rehearsed and recorded over a 10 hour period. I sent the lads a rough demo with the description of the vibe I was looking for – ‘A subterranean homesick hobo impregnating B.R.M.C. on Maggie’s Farm’. I have no idea what that would really sound like, but it would probably involve screaming, burning pitchforks and cardboard signs that read, ‘fuck you’.”

Video Premiere: Anton & The Colts “Boy Living for the Weekend”

Here is an upbeat, foot-tapping, melodic rocker from Anton & The Colts.  It’s typically bluesy with guitar riffs, harmonica and Anton O’Donnell’s distinctive voice blending for an upfront sound that will be great live (if we’re ever able to do gigs again).  ‘Boy Living for the Weekend’ is out now to stream and download.  Once the pressing-plants are back in business, there will also be a limited edition blue vinyl 7 inch single.  This is the first release since the well-received debut album ‘No End of the Line’ back in 2018.  Continue reading “Video Premiere: Anton & The Colts “Boy Living for the Weekend””
