The Twang Factor 3 Results: Runners-up are Sunsinger and the High Seas

Our runners-up spot demonstrates just how close The Twang Factor 3 was and the quality of the artists that entered. Our judge’s scorecards had Sunsinger and the High Seas exactly level with our eventual winner. The judges therefore had to do a straight casting vote between the two with Sunsinger and the High Seas missing out by the narrowest of margins, 3-2 to our winner. Yes it really was that close. The judges concluded that both acts were worthy of the title but unfortunately there could only be one winner.

Sunsinger & the High Seas are a Bedord-based band consisting of singer-songwriter Simon Gutteridge, Adam Knowles (guitar/vocals), Mark Calder (bass/vocals) and Nigel Ali (drums). On this performance they are also joined by Anne-Marie Kirby on violin. The band describe their sound as “alt-country, folk and americana tunes with a hint of pop and packed full of catchy melodies and soaring choruses” For The Twang Factor 3 the band have chose to play an otherwise unreleased song ‘Worried Mind’, good country toe-tapper, made for all the misty-eyed unrequited dreamers, the jilted lovers and the downright down-trodden hearts”.
