‘The Little In-Between’ is the title track of Tim Grimms upcoming album release, which will hit the streets on April 14th. It’s something of a new direction for Grimm – still very much recognisable as folk influenced singer-songwriter material but this time, and for the first time, Tim Grimm’s focus is less on external storytelling and more on an internal emotional examination. He says of the new recordings “My last album, written in the middle of the covid pandemic, was much more social-political, much more about the world. But this one is intensely personal. I’m a fairly private person, and I think of myself as an observer. I’ve previously shied away from writing albums too much directly about me – but this one couldn’t be avoided.”
On one level ‘The Little In-Between’ muses on how life is lived mostly between the leaving and the arriving, however long that may be – the moment that lingers between the breath taken in and the exhalation, or the moment that comes after the brush is lifted and before the artwork is begun. Anticipation. Inspiration. Trepidation. That’s where life exists.
