Another single available for a listen – ‘Casey ‘n’ Bill‘ is taken from the new album “Doing Things Right” by Jim Kweskin & The Berlin Hall Saturday Night Revue which will be released on April 25th via Jalopy Records.
Jim Kweskin is the legendary jug band leader who is getting another round in the spotlight thanks to being name-checked in both the Timothee Chalet movie ‘A Complete Unknown‘ and by Bob Dylan himself in the ‘Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story’ film (directed by Martin Scorsese).
Jim Kweskin told Americana UK that: “There are many old songs about both Casey Jones and Steamboat Bill. This version about a race down the Mississippi River between a train on the shore and a steamboat on the river was originally recorded in 1926 by Earl McDonald’s Original Louisville Jug Band.”
