‘Scarlet‘ is taken from the upcoming release ‘Love is a Sea‘ by Once More, Autumn – which is the musical brainchild Minneapolis-based artist and songwriter Evan Walton. Originally from Dayton Ohio, Evan Walton has dedicated himself to bridging indie-folk music with alternative soundscapes.
The softly haunting strains of ‘Scarlet’ come, Evan Walton has said, from a personal space – listen to those lyrics and it’s clearly not a happy place: “breathless in the water, bound by memory / of all the pain you authored.” There’s not much of a glimpse of escape either…but there is a big explosive coda.
