Check out the latest single from Boston-based veteran singer-songwriter Adam Sherman.  “How Hard I Tried” is a heartfelt, aching ballad that showcases Sherman’s delicate, vulnerable voice.  On this single he is joined by Robin Lane, who delivers a subtle harmony vocal, combining effectively with Sherman’s emotive performance.  The string arrangement from Ken Field, who also produced the song, highlights the quality of the song-writing and creates a lush, orchestral backdrop for Sherman’s reflections on his wish to form a connection, but desire isn’t enough in a relationship.

The single appears on a new 4-track EP, “Nowhere But Here”, which is out now.  Sherman says of the collection:  “These songs are all about finding the strength to persevere and move towards love and kindness, even when there is loss.  I would love listeners to feel that joy and sadness will always be present in our lives and that we can learn to embrace both and persevere.  I’ve been moving towards a style of music that is equal parts rock and folk and I feel I’ve come closer to achieving that blend on these songs.  I aimed for a sonically sophisticated sound that showcases those two genres, and these songs cover a range of emotions from joy and hope to sadness and heartbreak.”  In other words, Sherman attempts to capture the depth and diverse feelings and experiences that make us human.  Take a listen and be absorbed by Sherman’s intimate reflections – there’s hope and joy to be found here.
