Video: The Lost Doves “You Stop Me from Falling”

The latest ‘Lockdown Session’ from Ian Bailey finds him collaborating with Charlotte Newman, their voices combining effortlessly to deliver a song of gentle beauty.  Together, Bailey and Newman are The Lost Doves.  Bailey has once again shown that he is a talented songwriter, whose vocal melodies and arrangements bring to mind The Byrds.  With just Ian’s delicately picked Martin acoustic as their accompaniment, the duo lay bare the song’s sentiments of hope and support against todays uncertain and fearful world.

The song is taken from the brand new album ‘Set Your Sights Towards the Sun’, which is the duo’s first collection together.   The album was largely recorded, mixed and produced towards the end of 2019 and the early part of this year, before the lockdown began, in Bailey’s home studio, ‘Small Space Studios’ and the sound created by the north-west duo is impressively warm.  There is a blend of styles but common throughout the album is the strength of the vocal performances and gorgeous harmonies.  Like previous ‘Lockdown Sessions’, the video was filmed, produced and edited by Sacha Bailey, Ian’s daughter, for Green Tea Productions.  This is well-crafted and well-performed music to be absorbed by.  Enjoy.
