Here’s the latest single from Nashville-via-Australia singer-songwriter Imogen Clark. ‘The Art of Getting Through’ opens with bright guitar before Clark begins to sing, and her voice is immediately captivating.  Clark’s tone is rich, and her vocal melody is simply gorgeous. Featuring a brilliant harmonica solo from the legendary Mickey Raphael, the song is beautifully crafted, arranged and performed. The video, directed by Jeremy Dylan, features breathtaking, expansive landscapes that bring to mind long summer days; ‘The Art of Getting Through It’ could definitely be on your summer playlist.

The single is from Clark’s brand new album, “Choking on Fuel”, which is out now. After a year of relentless touring, Clark went back to her acoustic, songwriting roots for her new material, aiming to record music that reflected her popular live performances. Clark explains: “I spent last year on the road around the world, playing headline shows but also touring with Robyn Hitchcock, Steve Poltz, BOWEN * YOUNG and Andrew Farriss.  So many people have messaged me or commented on my social media to say that they would love to have an album that captured the spirit of what I do live, and that’s what this is.” The album closes with a cover version of Sheryl Crow’s ‘If It Makes You Happy’, reimagined as a delicate, vulnerable duet with award-winning live performer Kezia Gill.

Clark will be on tour in the UK this summer – check out the dates below:
Friday 27 June – York – FortyFive Vinyl Cafe
Sunday 29 June – Nottingham – Running Horse
Tuesday 1 July – London – Green Note
Friday 4 July – East Suffolk – Maverick Festival
