Video: Kelsey Hunter “Let Me Burn”

Beginning with a rhythmic strum and country twang, ‘Let it Burn’ by Kelsey Hunter really hits its groove when her atmospheric singing voice is unleashed.  As the song continues to build, thumping drums get your feet tapping and you’re absorbed by Hunter’s moody sound, which blends heartland rock, folk and country with a touch of blues.  Hunter says: “‘Let Me Burn’ was written about the relationship struggles within oneself. Using alcohol or nightlife as something to distract an inner conflict. It’s about a fight with the opposing sides of yourself.”  There’s an edge to the conflict she exposes but plenty of ear-friendly melody too.

This is Hunter’s first new material since her self-titled EP was released in the autumn of 2021.  The style is straightforward, direct and powerful with hints of her rock heroes combined with singer-songwriter influences like Brandi Carlile.  Particularly known for her stage presence and dynamic live performances, Kelsey Hunter is one to watch.  Check out this rocking Americana groove and look out for more from Kelsey Hunter soon.
