Video: Lady Nade “Bloom” – if we put our minds together, we can shine

Whether lilting high or resonating low, Lady Nade’s vocal performance in Bloom is simply gorgeous. Her voice is pure and full of rich warmth while she delivers words that are equally beautiful and uplifting: “If we put our minds together, we can shine.” Indeed. This is a folk anthem for loss and hope, grief and growth, enhanced by an inventive and well-crafted video.

Filmed and directed by Jacobo Lagüela, the moving video is themed around Nade’s favourite flower. Representing growth and transformation, she has a sunflower tattooed on her arm. Here, it represents her grandfather, whose impact on her life was profound. He raised her and influenced her in so many ways, not least by introducing her to americana, folk and jazz, shaping her future musical life. Then, when he was given an Alzheimer’s diagnosis, she cared for him until his death during the pandemic. The resulting song and video are incredibly personal, offering an intimate insight into her life and inspiration.

Lady Nade’s vocal performance explains: “Bloom weaves together imagery of seeds, flowers, and nature in a way that captures life’s full-circle journey. It’s a tribute to him and the quiet beauty of becoming.”

This is the final single before Lady Nade’s highly anticipated new album, which is due out this summer. Identity promises to be an uplifting and deeply personal collection of songs, threaded through with hope. Bring a little joy into your life – listen to Lady Nade sing.
