Video Premiere: Felicity Urquhart & Josh Cunningham “We’ll Never Get Out Of Love Alive”

Here’s a live in the studio recording of ‘We’ll Never Get Out of Love Alive’ from Australian duo Felicity Urquhart and Josh Cunningham. Haunting and evocative, the words and melody slowly unfold, quietly drawing you into the song’s cinematic sense of romance. Cunningham’s warm, resonant guitar is outstanding – with just an acoustic, he creates incredible atmosphere, and everything is built around this. When Urquhart begins to sing, her voice is striking, and the impact is immediate. The real joy, here, is in how the pair respond to, and bring the best out of, one another; their performance together is an intimate dialogue, a graceful vocal dance that is hypnotic to observe. Lyrically, ‘We’ll Never Get Out of Love Alive’ is a thoughtful reflection on the nature of real love.

Urquhart explains: “There’s plenty of happy love songs in the world and this one is not necessarily one of them.” Cunningham continues: “But it’s not a sad song though; it’s really just a song about the power of love.” Popular in the duo’s live sets, the video for ‘We’ll Never Get Out of Love Alive’ demonstrates the importance of the chemistry between Urquhart and Cunningham, reinforcing the theme.

The pair enjoyed their own creative journeys before developing their partnership in life and music. Cunningham was a member of The Waifs, while Urquhart was a solo country singer and media personality. Since joining forces in 2020, the duo have released two acclaimed studio albums. The third, “Everything Around You”, explores themes of love and hope, resilience and the enduring strength of human connections and relationships. The new album is due to be released on 6th March 2026. While you wait, immerse yourself in this single, which is the closing song from the duo’s award-winning album “Birdsong”.
