Video Premiere: Jacklen Ro “Life With You”

Check out the excellent video premiere for the new single ‘Life With You’ from Los Angeles-based Jacklen Ro.  ‘Life With You’ is a delightfully sincere declaration of love: “When I learned how to sing // I sang a song for you // When I got out out of key // I knew we’d see it through.”  This song is all about the engaging vocal melody, rising and falling over a rhythmic, tuneful strum.   Jacklen Ro is led by harmonising singers Jackie Giroux and Caelen Perkins.  The pair say of the new single: “‘Life With You’ is a song about unconditional love that’s reciprocal. It’s about the people you’re there for and are there for you when you need them. Like family. The people you want to shower with love cause they won’t judge.”  Lyrically and musically, ‘Life With You’ is joyous and celebratory.  It’s accompanied by a brilliantly creative and well-realised video that begins by depicting an idyllic family life.  Of course, this slowly unravels as the reality of everyday life undermines that first burst of happiness.  Importantly though, by the end of the video, everything has worked out for these charming characters.  Its earnest, hopeful message is very welcome in tough times.

The SoCal pair left High School and then had to contend with a pandemic.  Now, they are just emerging, full of energy, with new music and their first live shows across the USA.  The uplifting, positive vibe is a key part of the band’s sound and Karly Low’s bass and Caden Barlett’s drums have been added for extra dynamism and texture.  Later in 2022, we can expect Jacklen Ro’s a new album on Lolipop Records.  It promises to be upbeat, irreverent fun, full of melody and positivity.  In the meantime enjoy ‘Life With You’.
