Video Premiere: Ronley Teper “Big Black Clouds”

Here is a gentle, calming and optimistic video to start your day.  Director and animator Carolyn Tripp has brought to life the words and feel of the latest single from Ronley Teper and The Lipliners.  The visual is inspired by unusual images from cards and these have been put together through motion graphics, digital illustration, and frame-by-frame animation.  The song, then, is like your fortune being told, the cards being dealt through the video, and the message is a positive one.  The sentiment is direct: “Maybe tomorrow // We’ll find a better way // Maybe tomorrow // Will bring a brighter day,” and we all need a little hope like this at the moment.  Backing vocals from Ben Hermann and Willow Rutherford combine well with Teper’s dreamy voice and together they create a delicate vocal that has the feel of an intimate, encouraging conversation.

The talented Ronley Teper pursues many interests as a musician, producer, performer and multimedia artist.  Through her project-work in music, theatre, television and film, she has enjoyed collaborations with other artists and performers, particularly in the Toronto arts scene.  The new song and video will be available on all platforms from 5th March but you get to see it here first.  Enjoy.
