Steve Earle covers Justin Townes’ “Harlem River Blues” on ‘Kimmel’ – Watch

Steve Earle and his band the Dukes performed a cover of his son Justin Townes Earle’s ‘Harlem River Blues’ last week on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the recorded version of which appears on the newly released album ‘J.T.’, a tribute to the late singer-songwriter, who died in August and which we reviewed recently here on AUK. After the song ended Earle paid a moving tribute to his son, commenting: “see you when I get there, cowboy”.

The record ‘J.T.’ landed on January 4th, the day that would have been Justin’s 39th birthday. Proceeds from the project will be put in a trust for Justin Townes Earle’s young daughter.
