Here is the sublime new single from AUK-favourite Robert Vincent. Vincent is nominated in two categories at the upcoming AMAUK Awards: UK Artist of the Year and UK Album of the Year for the acclaimed ‘In This Town You’re Owned’. The award winners will be announced at this year’s ‘virtual’ ceremony on 28th January. ‘The Ending’ is delicately beautiful and one of the highlights from the Ethan Johns-produced album. Gently rhythmic and soothingly melodic, the song has subtle instrumental layers and displays Vincent’s ability to craft excellent music.
Vincent is in the process of releasing a three-part series of EPs called ‘From Home’, featuring stripped-back versions of tracks from all his albums alongside carefully selected covers. The new project was born out of performing and promoting ‘In This You’re Owned’ from the comfort of home during the pandemic. He explains: “Being able to communicate individually with the viewing audience whilst playing from home has created a unique experience for me and my audience. It became clear that people wanted to hear the songs in this format and in a more intimate setting.” Indeed, the outcome is masterfully spare.
