Video: The Curse of K.K. Hammond “Walk With Me Through The Fire” Feat. Ian Davidson & Kaspar Berry Rapkin

The new video from UK-based The Curse of K.K. Hammond is a brilliant visual spectacle.  Both the video and the music in ‘Walk With Me Through The Fire’ are clearly inspired by classic Spaghetti Western movies and the unmistakable sound of Ennio Morricone’s compositions.  For this single, The Curse of K.K.Hammond is joined by lan Davidson on cello and Kaspar ‘Berry’ Rapkin on slide guitar; their fine performances provide bluesy textures.  Adding to the cinematic Western feel, Lewis Taylor also delivers mariachi-style trumpet.  The result is a dark, brooding ballad, full of atmosphere, that blends traditional blues, country and Southern Gothic influences to tell a haunting tale.

Slide guitarist and songwriter, The Curse of K.K. Hammond is known for a strong blues sound, inspired by the Delta Blues pioneers of the 1930s.  Her debut album “Death Roll Blues” was released to great critical acclaim in 2023.  It was such a highly anticipated release that both vinyl and CD versions sold out through pre-orders before the album was officially released.  The album went on to reach the number 1 spot in both the UK and US iTunes Blues Charts and achieved number 7 in the Billboard Blues Chart.  For those unfamiliar with The Curse of K.K. Hammond, ‘Walk With Me Through The Fire’ is a typically raw and moody piece.  Check it it out.
