With a sound that would be right at home on the Opry stage alongside Roy Acuff, Zachary Lucky releases his new single ‘Jasper’.   Recorded in December 2023 in rural Ontario with Benjamin Dakota Rogers producing, this is the first single from Lucky’s latest album ‘The Wind’.  Joining Rogers and Luck in the studio were  Miles Zurawell on dobro, Andrew Collins on mandolin, Peter Klassen on upright bass, Will Fisher on drums and Rebekah Hawker singing harmonies.

Lucky explains the genesis of the lyrics, “They say that sometimes talking to a stranger is easier than confiding in someone we know – Jasper is a tune that is kind of about that. It’s about one of those chance crossing of paths where you end up talking to someone in a dark bar room, and immediately feel like you’ve known them your whole life. At the end of the night you end up going your separate ways, but years down the road you find yourself wondering where that person ever ended up? How are they keeping? The tune itself is pretty plain to form. I was listening to a lot of Tom T Hall’s album “For The Sake Of The Song” when I wrote this one. I always liked how those songs sort of just lay themselves out for you to read. I like to think this tune does a pretty good job of that too. “
