Former Stray Birds singer-songwriter Maya de Vitry has announced a UK headline tour this April. The announcement comes after her recent visit supporting John Craigie across Europe. Throughout the tour, de Vitry will be performing songs from her three solo releases as well some fan favourites from The Stray Birds’ repertoire. De Vitry says: “I am so happy to be playing music on this side of the Atlantic again. I loved touring in this part of the world with my former band The Stray Birds, and it’s thrilling to show up here again in a new way, five years into my new musical chapter. There is so much love for songs and stories here.”

In addition to her solo work and time with The Stray Birds, de Vitry has collaborated as songwriter, singer and musician with a who’s who of americana acts including Della Mae, Lindsay Lou, Michaela Anne, Anthony da Costa, Birds of Chicago and Molly Tuttle.

The April tour dates are as follows:

Thurs 18th – Pocklington, York
Fri 19th – The Live Room, Shipley
Sat 20th – The Stables, Milton Keynes
Sun 21st – The Green Note, London
Mon 22nd – Prince Albert, Brighton
Tue 23rd – Retro Bar, Manchester
Wed 24th – Hug & Pint, Glasgow
Fri 26th – Cluny, Newcastle
Sat 27th – Sudbury Arts Centre, Sudbury

Tickets are available here.

As a taster, de Vitry has released an acoustic performance video for ‘What The Moon Said’, which features Joel Timmons on guitar, who will be performing with de Vitry on the tour, and Ethan Jodziewicz on upright bass. The track was originally released on ‘Adaptations’, her first solo album.
