The Winding Wheels sit in the round and perform the breezy ‘Every Song I Sang’ at Brisbane’s Recordworks Studios in the video for their first single. The song was written by Steve Boom who has co-written with Max Jackson, Bella Mackenzie, and Charlie Fittler. The Winding Wheels are part of the music collective responsible for bands such as The Kindly Ravens, The English Rain, and The Stepping Stones. The band name is from the Ryan Adams song Winding Wheel and is a metaphor for the ultimate soulmate. Joining Boom the lineup is, Alister Bell, Jason Millhouse, and Neil Steward. The recording is immaculate, every guitar string rings out clearly and their harmonies echo the best of the 70’s singer-songwriters.
Of the song, Boom says, “The song is about loving someone from afar for many years and them not knowing of your feelings. Consequently, all of the songs that they write end up being about this person as it’s easier to speak of the love through a song rather than face the reality of possible rejection.”
‘Every Song I Sang’ is from the group’s debut album ‘Lonely Loving You’ which hits stores and streaming services in May 2023.
