The Eugene Tyler Band are a bluegrass power trio (honest, that’s what it says here) – and despite the image on the track link below they certainly incorporate banjo in their sound. Take a listen to ‘Useless Old Names‘ and you’ll hear the truth of that. It’s a wry number, riffing on surnames: “Me and my brothers Gardeners all three / not bad at mowing can’t raise a seed.” The song is taken from the band’s new live album ‘Thanks Cats.‘
“It’s the most honest record we’ve ever made,” says singer/songwriter Eugene Gardner. “Most of our time is spent on the road, drinking in the sun and making music with friends, some new and some we’ve known forever. We’ve made a lot of memories at those shows and hopefully these songs make people feel like they’re right there with us.”
