Earlier in December 2024, AUK’s Guy Lincoln reviewed Father John Misty’s latest album “Mahashmashana”, awarding it a high 9/10. He wrote: “After all this then, what are we left with? Fundamentally “Mahashmashana” is a magnificent, overblown, indulgent glory of a record. It is consistently thought-provoking and hugely enjoyable at the same time. It will reinforce everything you previously thought about Father John Misty / Josh Tillman. That he/they are a pompous, self-aggrandising pain or a borderline visionary songwriting genius. And guess what, you’d be right on both counts.” This was one of a number of enthusiastic reviews garnered by Misty/Tillman’s work and led to its achieving a number 12 UK album chart entry.

Having sold out a series of dates in the UK in April 2025 – see this AUK news piece from September 2024,  Misty has announced news of more live dates for 2025. He will return to the UK in June for a week of shows.  He will be returning to the British Isles in August for a series of dates in Ireland before wrapping up with a show in Scotland at Glasgow’s Barrowland on 28th August 2025. You can find tickets for the shows at this link and he will also be appearing at The End of The Road and Moseley Folk festivals at the end of August. In the meantime why not watch Father John Misty’s latest video for ‘She Cleans Up’ below.
