Amy Annelle “Down And Out In Denver” – bowed, and almost broken

We are enjoying the current singles from Amy Annelle – and looking forward to the new album ‘The Toll‘ which will be released in August.  The latest song from that album is the almost spoken word folk of ‘Down And Out In Denver‘ which recalls hard times and the discomfort of dues paying.  Amy Annelle explains that the song “invokes Saint Jude, the patron saint of lost causes, and acknowledges the comrades who have passed this way before.”

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
