Anthony da Costa “You’re Free Now” – Listen

Even if it’s an automatic we don’t recommend that you drive with your ‘Feet on the Dashboard‘, but we do note that that is the title of Anthony da Costa’s new album which is released today.

Starting in writing songs at the age of 13, Anthony da Costa has released several albums already, most recently a solo LP, a collaboration with Norah Jones guitarist Adam Levy in 2017, and a further EP in 2019. He also has a busy touring schedule, sharing bills with bands such as Big Thief, The Milk Carton Kids and Loretta Lynn, and sharing stages with Joy Williams, Sarah Jarosz, Molly Tuttle, and Yola amongst others.  In 2019 he met up with long-time friend and producer Kenneth Pattengale to make ‘Feet on the Dashboard.’

You’re Free Now‘ mulls over bittersweet memories of a relationship that has ended – all the things they did and all the things they didn’t do.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
