Ben Cook-Feltz “Life’s Rich Buffet” – Sample as you pass along

Pandemic times have brought many things – and one of them is contemplation of the meaning of life.  Quite deep.  Ben Cook-Feltz found himself moved to eschew his regular ’70s singer-songwriter style and take a dreamier path on ‘Life’s Rich Buffet‘, on which he sings that “ we’ve made some choices and we don’t know why / best choose wisely if you want to fly.”   The song “stemmed from conversations about life, intentionality, how we all strive to do our best and how ultimately, fate drives us in ways we couldn’t ever imagine,”  Ben told us. “Like, say, what would happen if you passed away and were accidentally sent to a famous yacht rock star’s purgatory.”  What indeed.

Ben Cook-Feltz likes to keep busy – when not working on his own music he’s also a full-fledged member of the Mother Banjo Band, Art Vandalay, and Benjamin Miller’s band and sits in as a sideman with far too many people to list in full here.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
