“OK, should we start?” says Willy Vlautin and all we can do is nod an enthusiastic affirmative. It’s no secret that Americana UK is deeply enamoured of The Delines – as any right-thinking person would be – and we’re beyond honoured to be asked to premiere the video for their first-ever Christmas-7″ release.
We’ve alluded before to how Christmas isn’t always “ho ho ho” and ‘Christmas In Atlantis‘ is the perfect example of what we mean, as a nightmare Christmas party slowly unravels with racist relatives, arguing siblings and inappropriate behaviour of all types drifting into and out of view. This is so well observed that it retains that essential essence of truth – although the behaviours are extreme they never seem anything less than believable. That’s great writing.
The physical release of ‘Christmas In Atlantis‘ was designed by Aaron Draplin, and this is a special edition of 1000 copies (an actual limited edition with a limited supply if you will) on black vinyl. But don’t worry, you can watch the video over and over again… we already have.
