Dan Michaelson will release his new solo album ‘First Light’ on 8th December, the follow-up to last year’s critically acclaimed “Memory” which was described by the Independent as “making mordant sorrow sound timeless and fresh”. And who doesn’t like a bit of mordant sorrow? The new song Old Kisses “imagines a place where every intimate moment is made material and we are surrounded by the debris of our emotion”. As well as soundtracking the third season of the BBC series “Detectorists”, Michaelson is currently scoring Stephanie Wang-Breal’s feature-length documentary ‘Blowin’ Up’ which is the story of an innovative human trafficking court in Queens, N.Y, following the compassionate judge who runs it and the women who pass through its doors every day.
