Del McCoury “Running Wild” – lost control, running wild, mighty bold

Speaking of people who need no introduction – entranced by Earl Scruggs’ playing, took up the banjo and joined Bill Monroe in 1963 and the rest really is Bluegrass History.  This is not only the purest traditional sounding Bluegrass it’s also some of the darn finest Bluegrass you’ll hear this year.  ‘Running Wild‘ is a new tune from Del McCoury as a precursor to a new album ‘Almost Proud.’  It’s out on February 18th, so get your spending money together.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?

Thanks for the heads up. With the outstanding Bela Fleck and Billy Strings albums in September, Alison Krauss and Robert Plant this month and then Punch Brothers and Aoife O’Donovan – and now Del – to come Bluegrass lovers are being well-provided for. Such a joyous sound.
