It’s been a little while since we’ve offered you gig-starved music-lovers a ‘mini-gig’ to enjoy, something to remind you of the good times to come when we can get back out to see a few shows. We’re making up for it today with an excellent, extended, exclusive show from Stephie James. This is brilliantly shot, expertly performed and utterly absorbing throughout. The vocals are flawless and the guitar-work is something to get lost in. Many thanks to Stephie for a great gig.
James’s new EP, ‘These Days’, is due out on 14th August and is well-worth checking out. Although it’s her debut, James is a seasoned performer, having toured for years with Nikki Lane and with 8-time Grammy winner Anita Baker at the age of just 17. She has also worked on records for Buddy Miller, Steve Earle, Shawn Colvin and The Wood Brothers as an assistant engineer at Dan Auerbach’s studio.
So, just in time for the weekend, here is almost 17 minutes of live music, a rich sound that’ll keep you going a little longer. By the time the performance is over, darkness has fallen, the fairy lights shine and the Moon glows. Friday night is here, folks. Enjoy.
