70’s vibes abound on Forty Elephant Gang’s new single ‘Evergreen‘.  The East London Americana group consists of Andrew White on lead vocals and guitar, Sean Mannion on mandolin and backing vocals and James Bachmann on guitar and backing vocals, with recent additions to the line-up including Martin Moore on drums and Frazor Twyman on Bass.

The track has mid-paced but driving drums that provide a solid bed for woody guitars and mandolin and moody slide guitar accents.  The highlight is the group’s tight harmony singing that lifts the song to unexpected heights.
