Fruition “Saturday Night” and we’re feeling allright

Well, it has been quite a week – and what about last night, eh?  Wasn’t Diana Jones great at The Stables?  Oh, yeah, and the other stuff that went on.  Means we get to Friday a bit frayed, worn and exhausted so what could be better than a slice of laid back folk-rock as we enter the American UK chill out zone?

And fortunately that is exactly what Fruition, the Portland based eclectic folk/roots/rock band have to offer with ‘Saturday Night‘, the new single taken from their upcoming August 25th release ‘ How To Make Mistakes.‘  Like we need help with that – the album is actually out on August 23rd, what are we like?

What’s the theme for the album – well it appears that it’s sort of in line with the title:  “If you’re doing it right, you’re bound to make mistakes,” says vocalist and guitarist Jay Cobb Anderson. “Existence is a messy affair. Grace isn’t a swan, it’s a pigeon. The most beautiful intricate beadwork is often purposely flawed, to let the soul out. Perfection isn’t natural. The dearest memories are bent and dented. Priceless relics come chipped and cracked, and bruised fruit always tastes a little bit sweeter.”

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
