After last year’s cancellation, Glasgow Americana is back with its 15th Annual festival of music. The week sees Glasgow host musicians from all around the world as well as some local ones. On Wednesday, the festival opens with Australian Emily Barker and will include American artists Nathan Bell and Diana Jones before closing with My Darling Clementine. As the webpage says, presumably tongue in cheek, this is “Glasgow’s number one Americana festival” and certainly worth the £80 pass.
The festival includes these shows at six different venues over the five days:
29/09 – Emily Barker, Kirsten Adamson – Cottiers Theatre,
30/09 – Nathan Bell plus Kirsteen Harvey – The Admiral Bar
30/09 – Jill Jackson plus support – Saint Lukes
01/10 – Diana Jones plus support – The Glad Café
01/10 – Sid Griffin plus Scott Ashworth – The Admiral Bar
02/10 – Roseanne Reid plus David Latto – The Glad Café
02/10 – Song Writers In The Round – Featuring Jill Jackson, Cahalen Morrison & Roseanne Reid – The Glad Café
07/10 – The Seven Song-Featuring Man Of The Minch, The Coaltown Daisies, and Kirsteen Harvey – Room 2
07/10 – My Darling Clementine plus Arksong – The CCA
