His His is, you’ll be surprised to read, not the actual name of the singer of today’s featured song. In fact it is the pseudonym Toronto based Aidan Belo who recorded a set of rural inspired songs after relocating to his family’s hobby farm.
‘Matador’ is the debut single by His His and aims to capture the moods that Belo felt in the barn where he recorded it one afternoon: feelings of melancholy, relative passivity, and low-spiritedness. It’s slow and a bit of a downer, but good nonetheless.
