One side of the latest double sided single release from Jim Basnight, ‘Alone With Her‘ is a blend of Jim Basnight’s distinctive power pop given a twist by the high in the mix violin which gives it an almost folky Americana feel. Taken from the last album release ‘Summertime Peculiar‘ (and yeah, this is a particularly peculiar summertime!) from 2023 it also presages the releases of the next as yet untitled album which should be out this Summer all being well.
Jim Basnight’s music got an extra nod at the end of last year when another single from ‘Summertime Peculiar‘ made it onto the 3-CD collection of power pop called ‘Looking For The Magic,’ released on Grapefruit Records Label (a division of Cherry Red UK), which saw him track listed alongside the Ramones, Cheap Trick, Todd Rundgren, MC5, Badfinger, Big Star and more.
