You’ll recall that 2023 was, pretty much, the year of Kassi Valazza, whose album ‘Knows Nothing‘ provided a slew of our favourite songs that year and whose live performances were amongst the very best of the year, mesmerising music with great great (and yes great) lyrics. And now we can let you in on a secret – 2025 is going to be another year of musical dominance by Kassi Valazza. ‘Weight of the Wheel‘ is the new single from the soon to be released album ‘From Newman Street‘ and it is a sweet pain – a beautiful depiction of a crushing anxiety which rings oh so true with perhaps just a shoot of hope in the healing balm of music.
‘From Newman Street‘ is released on May 2nd via Loose Records. Newman Street refers to the location of a friend’s house in Portland where Kassi found shelter and a safe space while navigating change in 2023. Here, she wrote most of the songs for the new record and planned her move to New Orleans, Louisiana.
