The latest act to emerge from the California neo-psych/ americana scene, is Los Angeles based songwriter/guitarist Alex E.T. (Alexandra Elaine Tapié) and her band of the same name. They have announced their second album “Color Of Strange” will be released via Curation Records on 26th September 2025. Produced by Ethan Miller (Howlin’ Rain, Comets On Fire, Heron Oblivion) at Eric Bauer’s (Ty Segall, Osees, Wand) studio in California. It follows debut “The Ashes”, a lo-fi bedroom recording that attracted praise from Shindig amongst others.
Producer Miller sums it up: “I laid out on the floor in the middle of the night, headphones on, lost in an album playing over and over – while also delivering everything I love about raw electric guitar rock and all its ways to smoulder, scorch and explode”.

“Color of Strange” is a chunk of Los Angeles’ legendary musical myth in a bottle with echoes of early Slash Records and LA’s ’80s psychedelic renaissance. It features a distinct voice blooming out of dirty jangle and fuzz-blasted guitars. “Color of Strange” will be available on CD, vinyl and digital formats and can be pre-ordered via this link.

The  album is preceded by its first “dreamy, grungy” single, ’Summer For Now’. Described as ethereal and magnetic – nostalgic, distorted, and oddly uplifting – is a seasonal anthem about “the reckless magic of youth, ache of growing apart, and moments when everything feels weightless and infinite during late night drives with the windows rolled down and the radio cranked loud”.
