Little Kid started in 2011 as a project of Kenny Boothby, but over the years it has grown into a fully fledged band with Megan Lunn (banjo, keys, vocals), Paul Vroom (bass & vocals), Liam Cole (drums) and Brodie Germain (drums, guitar, percussion). Kenny Boothby is the songwriter, and he has a penchant for biblical imagery as on this tale of incorrect deduction taken from Little Kid’s new album ‘Transfiguration Highway‘ which is released today.
In ‘I Thought That You’d Been Raptured‘ a man returns home to find his wife’s clothes strewn about the house – and he jumps to the obvious conclusion, she’s been taken up to Heaven in the Rapture. This seems gratingly unfair seeing that, as he recounts, he lives a mostly blemish free life: “I don’t go in for drinking / Carry on with other women / I ain’t smoked since you got pregnant, babe.” Fortunately there is another explanation, it may still involve rapture, but of a rather different kind.
