Liv Wade “Slow Motion” – you can stop on a dime

Toronto would like it known that it has a new talent to talk about, Liv Wade is a queer, two-spirit artist with Metis and Scandinavian roots, Liv’s family originally came from the Red River Metis Nation, eventually settling in a northern Manitoba area called Pine Bluff, just outside of The Pas.  Liv now lives in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island.  Her heritage and cultural roots inform her music, but equally well there is inspiration from Canadian icons such as Leonard Cohen, Ron Sexsmith, Kathleen Edwards and Sarah Harmer, as well as her Royal Conservatory of Music studies, which earned her residencies at the prestigious Banff Centre for the Arts and Creativity and Manitoba’s Indigenous Music Program.

‘Slow Motion’ addresses issues of trust and accepting love as part of moving forward in life.  It’s taken from Liv Wade’s new EP ‘Radios and Buffalos.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
