This is absolutely perfect for a wet Tuesday morning in September – the new band from Simon Raymonde (founder of the Bella Union label) is a collaboration with drummer Richie Thomas, who release their debut album, Ojalá, on 3rd November on Simon Cowell’s Syco label. (Oj, it’s out on Bella Union). The track features former Midlaker Tim Smith on vocals which is as Raymonde describes it “as rare as a sighting of the Siberian dusky thrush.” In the absence of that, this will more than do.
