Midnight Vesta “Complicated Pony” – Listen

Toronto’s Midnight Vesta have a new single ‘Complicated Pony’ out, which is a lead in to their new album.  Along with the rest of the album it was recorded in a mammoth ten-day session at the guitarist Collin’s childhood home in Calabogie, Ontario.  Coffee, rewrites, computer crashes and a gorgeous blending of harmonising vocals and a beautiful classic folk-rock arrangement led to today’s featured song.

Midnight Vesta see the song as a non-traditional love song – featuring as it does, they say, feelings that “sometimes we can’t be around the people we care about the most, and we’re forced to overcome obstacles. Many relationships require time for healing, pursuing dreams, and discovering new opportunities.”

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
