Miko Marks has announced that a deluxe version of her acclaimed 2022 album ‘Feel Like Going Home’ will be released on 19th April via Red Tone Records.

Marks’ sound blends americana, blues, southern rock, and gospel.  She is in the vanguard of black artists making headway for themselves and those who come after them in the world of country and roots music.  Marks impressed crowds at 2023’s Long Road Festival performing her songs in both acoustic and full band sets.

Album Art Miko Marks Feel Like Going HomeSince its original release in 2022, ‘Feel Like Going Home’ has won plaudits from critics and from fellow artists, not least americana giant, Buddy Miller.  Marks elaborates: “I met the seasoned and well-known singer/songwriter/producer Buddy Miller in 2022 when I was a guest on the Buddy & Jim Show. I was in awe of his musical journey/career and he was generous in his appreciation.”

Miller is one of several guests who have collaborated with Marks as she reimagines the album’s songs.  The two perform the gospely ‘Lay Your Burdens Down’. Marks explains:  “It has always been a tender and emotional song for me to perform and record. It’s very personal as I battle worry, stress and anxiety and not to mention carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders. [Miller’s] voice connected with mine in a caring way that mirrored my plea for relief.”

Other guests include Tre Burt, Melissa Carper, Mark Lettieri (Snarky Puppy) and the award-winning Fisk Jubilee Singers.
