If you’re not subscribing to our monthly supporters newsletter you’ll be missing out on our exclusive supporters playlist of the best new americana we’ve heard over the last month which this month includes new tracks by Rodney Crowell, Fruit Bats, Ryan Bingham, Juana Everett and The Hanging Stars among others – as always we trawl through the best Americana we’ve heard recently so you don’t have to.

For this month’s supporters giveaway we have a vinyl copy of the new album from multi-talented singer, songwriter and musician Ashley McBryde Wild. Produced by Lindeville collaborator John Osborne (Brothers Osborne) and recorded with her live band, Deadhorse, Wild provides another exhibit of “McBryde’s exquisite lyrical portraits of human vulnerability and the ragged ways we move through this world” (No Depression), tracing a captivating narrative that culminates in the moment just before McBryde quit drinking.

From the grit and grind of growing up in the shadow of Arkansas’s Ozark Mountains, to the enduring echo of her fundamentalist upbringing; the fallout of drinking too much and hard-won reckoning that led her to sobriety to the trauma passed down through her lineage. When matched with McBryde’s thrilling collision of timeless country and blistering rock & roll, the result is equal parts daring autobiography and courageous reclamation of her most untamed nature.

“When people hear this record, I hope it wakes up the part of them that I’m singing about in ‘Wild’—the part that still believes in those unrealized dreams and untaken risks,” says McBryde. “I believe that wild little kid is still alive inside of all of us, and that’s the version of everyone that I want to sing to.”

“Ashley McBryde is a rare gem,” producer John Osborne adds. “There are people out there with natural ability and there are people that dedicate every waking hour to honing their craft. Ashley is both. Never settling. Always reaching. The perfect combination of vulnerable and fearless.
