Riun Garner “Still Thinking Of Us” – not just going to forget…

Still Thinking Of Us‘ is the most recent single from Ruin Garner, who put out the EP ‘All We Know and All We Forget‘  a couple of years back.  It opens with finger picked guitar, before launching off into being a full-on folk-rocker and then pulling it in again as it twists into an introspective bedroom-folk mood.  It’s a song that finds the singer-songwriter from Vancouver reflecting on the past without wanting to go back to it – and singing of not wanting to reignite something that is over, but at the same time to not just stopping caring: “I don’t want to cut you out of my life like this / …. /  I just want to do what’s right / But I’m still thinking of you.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
