Sarah Jarosz “Orange and Blue” – Listen

The biggest surprise on this new song from Sarah Jarosz, the second single from her upcoming album ‘World On The Ground‘  (on Rounder Records, out June 5th) is how much it sounds like the recent work of David Crosby.  Not vocally, of course, but there’s a laid back and dreamy jazz sophistication to it.

It’s a song about place, and about realisation of what it means to you.  But even if it were just a phone book listing it’d sound amazing sung by Sarah Jarosz.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
