Something for the weekend: Jason McNiff “Fisherman’s Blues”

That’s it for us for this week dearest of readers. Don’t forget the latest edition of our new podcast is out today which features a rundown of our news, reviews and interviews over the last week – you can listen to it here. In the meantime we leave you with a new track from AUK’s brother from another mother Jason McNiff whose new album ‘Tonight We Ride’ lands on June 24th which includes in Jason’s words “11 cover versions of some favourites that have inspired me throughout my life. The versions are mostly very different from the originals and feature some great playing from Roger Askew (guitar) Basia Bartz (fiddle) as well as vocals from Graham Shankarji Hunt and Charlie Austen.” The first track to be released from it is a cover The Waterboys’ ‘Fisherman’s Blues’, a band whose mere mention always seem to cause heated debate here on the site, so get your tin hats on. Have a good one everyone.
