You may have heard that Taylor Swift has a new album out called ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ and this is the first single from it. Now, we do not claim to be the experts par excellence about Ms Swift, but we do know about Ophelia – whose fate Taylor wants to avoid. Ophelia, you’ll recall, was Laertes’ sister and a possible wife for Hamlet. That plan was rather sunk though, once Hamlet killed her father Polonius – her response was to lose her senses and drown in a river. This is a fate that is to be avoided, if at all possible, and that is indeed Taylor Swift’s intentions. Good.
