Townes Van Zandt Albums for 50th Anniversery Reissue

One of the troubadour voices that define Americana, Townes Van Zandt, saw the release of an album -‘Sky Blue‘ – of “lost tracks” at the start of the year.  And here, at the back end of 2019, comes news of the release of two of his original albums.  To call them influential would be a gross understatement. With one album boasting songs like ‘Be Here to Love Me‘ and ‘Tecumseh Valley‘ as well as it’s title track Our Mother the Mountain‘ and the self-titled album throwing out gems like ‘For the Sake of the Song‘,  Waiting Around to Die‘ and ‘(Quicksilver Daydreams Of) Maria‘ it’s clear why interest has never waned for these releases.  They’ll be out on 180g vinyl on January 10th, from Fat Possum Records.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
