North Carolina’s Josh King returns with a new single, ‘Turn Away‘ which is out today on Screwdriver Records. It’s his first new music since last year’s album ‘The Shed‘ (naturally a lockdown album!), ‘Turn Away’ begins with a jolt of guitar feedback and a stomping drum beat, before sliding into an electric guitar riff and soaring harmonies.
It’s a song that can be taken more than one way, as Josh King explained: “Although I wrote this song about some of our political leaders in the States at the time, I think people will be able to take it and make it comparable to someone in their own lives. Originally the song started off as slow and sad, so it’s been fun listening to it change with my musical taste over the years. I’m finally happy with it.”
