Track Premiere: My Girl The River “It’s Gonna Be Alright”

A new song from My Girl The River is something to celebrate – and ‘It’s Gonna be Alright‘ certainly meets the expectations we’ve learnt to have for this UK based Americana trio.  They are singer, guitarist and songwriter Kris Wilkinson Hughes, bassist Joe Hughes and ukulele by Rue Hughes.  It’s a family band.  My Girl The River are particularly good at capturing emotions, in this case the emotions are of loss, parting and not a little hope.  Things we all have to pass through at times, but here’s there’s also the benison of acceptance.

Kris told Americana UK her thoughts about the song “‘It’s Gonna Be Alright’ is a message to everyone who has lost someone and wants to believe they are still with us. We are all stardust, connected through love, memories and energy. In a perfect world we get the perfect farewell, a message of hope.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
