Rosina Bullen brings us a slice of folk that drifts into the kind of jazz tinged music that one might associate with Joni Mitchell. ‘Candle‘ is taken from her forthcoming EP ‘Painting a Picture‘ and was, Rosina Bullen explains “the first song that I wrote from the whole EP. It was actually the first song that I was truly proud of writing and began to feel like I was finding my voice as a musician and songwriter. As heard in the first line of the song ‘she lived just like a dancer, her mother’s way of life’ – I grew up in a very creative family, we were always encouraged to be creative and I found that music was my emotional outlet and realised that it was what I wanted to dedicate my life to.”
Rosina Bullen grew up in Suffolk and studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama’s in their Bachelor of Music Jazz program, before becoming a full time jazz singer, relocating for a couple of years to New York before returning to the UK after graduating from the Masters degree programme at The Manhattan School of Music.
