Tyler Ramsey and Carl Broemel “Sail Away” – the loser now will later be first

Tyler Ramsey and Carl Broemel recently announced their collaborative debut album “Celestun“, and in the wake of that announcement have now released the second pair of singles from it: the instrumental track ‘Elizabeth Brown‘ and a cover of Neil Young’s ‘Sail Away‘ which we’re featuring today.  We don’t routinely feature covers these days – that was quite the Covid-era thing and we’re happy to leave those days as far behind us as possible – but obviously it’s not a hard and fast rule.  So why this song?  Well, the pair wanted to include a cover on the album and ultimately landed on Neil Young’s ‘Sail Away,’ from his 1977 Oceanside/Countryside sessions that later appeared on the acoustic side of 1979’s landmark “Rust Never Sleeps“.  Says Ramsey, “Carl and I have both been on stage with Neil and had the chance to play songs with him.  We both have our own little Neil Young connection that we thought would be fun to celebrate.”

Celestun” will be released on January 15th 2026.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
